This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of teacher regulation in Victoria by leading policy development, legislative reform, and continuous improvement initiatives.Working across teams and with external stakeholders, this role will enhance regulatory efficiency, embed quality practices, and ensure VIT systems and processes are aligned with best practice and responsive to emerging challenges.Please note: The role may involve exposure to sensitive matters, which can involve allegations of child sexual abuse.Key responsibilitiesThe Regulatory Strategy Lead will be required toLead the development and implementation of regulatory frameworks, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.Analyse workflows and identify opportunities for process and system enhancements.Use data and performance insights to inform strategic decision-making.Provide expert policy advice to the Executive and Council of the VIT.Facilitate workshops and lead continuous improvement projects.Develop complex briefings, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders.Mentor and support staff in policy, process, and regulatory best practices.Collaborate across branches to deliver on strategic objectives.About YouYou are a strategic thinker and experienced policy leader withA strong understanding of regulatory environments and public sector governance.Demonstrated experience in policy development, quality improvement, and regulatory reform.Excellent analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.The ability to lead change and influence at senior levels.A tertiary qualification in law, public policy, or a related field (highly regarded).Key selection criteriaUnderstanding of regulatory objectives, strategies, policies, processes and standards and ability to operate within a government/regulatory environment.Resilience (Leading)-Creates a climate which encourages and supports openness, persistence and genuine debate around critical issues.
