Do you have skills and experience in invasive species management or policy writing?The Pest Services team sits within the Technical Services branch of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P) and provides strategic services and advice regarding the agencys internal and external legislative and custodial responsibilities as they relate to the management of invasive species.This position will assist in the development and upkeep of a suite of policy and administrative instruments to ensure consistency with legal and custodial obligations.The Senior Project Officer (Pests) supports the team in reviewing program data to ensure compliance with standards, managing information resources used by ranger staff engaged in pest management and other duties related to the pest program.As The Senior Project Officer, You WillParticipate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, provide advice on and continuously improve strategies and systems, policies and procedures for invasive species management and its application across QPWS&P Estate.Research, analyse and review data and systems to assess the efficacy of the QPWS&P pest program and compliance with standards of governance legislation and policy, and prepare correspondence and reports.Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including QPWS&P regions, other divisions, state and local governments, stakeholders relating to invasive species management and provide advice to ensure good project design, implementation and timely reporting.Provide l advice, mentor operational staff as required to build capability in invasive species management across the agency and prepare operational procedures for use by QPWS&P staff on visitor management, tourism and communication and community engagement.Participate as a proactive member of the Pest Services Branch.Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group Primary Industry & Environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
