Since beginning in 2012, the Registry has enrolled over 165,000 people who have had a bariatric procedure and has 213 surgeons and 150 hospitals contributing data. The Registrys team is based in Monash Universitys School of Translational Medicine (STM) at the Alfred Hospital campus. Further information about the registry can be found at The Position Working under the broad direction of the BSR Executive Officer and BSR Operations Manager, the position is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of BSR governance requirements including human research ethic committee (HREC) applications, amendments and reporting, and for ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and legislation. This position is a key role within the BSR, as ethics approval is required for every aspect of the BSRs mission. Key selection criteria Essential * A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. BSc, BBMedSc) with an appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation * Demonstrated experience preparing, submitting and managing HREC protocols and knowledge of NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, Operating Principles for Australian Clinical Quality Registries, and privacy laws * Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word and using Databases * Demonstrated project management skills to ensure the on-time delivery of applications and reports * Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team * Experience working in challenging roles that require skills in negotiation, prioritisation and time management, in order to meet competing priorities and the needs of multiple stakeholders * A demonstrated awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling in a public health setting * Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills with proven ability to effectively analyse information and produce clear, succinct reports and documents which require interaction with others * Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians and hospital administration staff. Desirable * A higher degree. * Knowledge of the Ethical Standards for Health and Disability Research (New Zealand).
