An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the board of Adelaide PHN, to help shape the health system to deliver better outcomes for vulnerable people, and a healthier Adelaide.Adelaide Primary Health Network (PHN) is seeking up to three (3) new directors (one of whom must be a GP).Job DescriptionAs a Board Director of Adelaide PHN, you will:Provide strategic leadership and governance for Adelaide PHN.Ensure cultural safety and inclusivity in decision-making.Support the organisations strategic plan, policies, and compliance.Attend monthly Board meetings, quarterly board committee meetings, strategy sessions, and regular community engagement events.Attend the Adelaide PHNs Annual Health Equity Awards.Represent Adelaide PHN to their respective communities.Advocate for the PHNs purpose and services as appropriate.Adelaide PHN is seeking up to three directors to fill identified skills needs and build the Boards capabilities to support and guide the PHNs continued rapid growth and the nature of its landscape.We are seeking experienced directors with strong connections and broad influential networks and understanding of the Primary Health Sector.Our Board is currently comprised of nine Directors.As a result of its tenure process, applications are now being sought for up to 3 positions, one of whom will need to be a General Practitioner.Desired Skills and ExperienceSkills being sought are:A strong understanding of Primary Health including the Allied Health sectorAn understanding of the commissioning environmentDigital health literacyHealth economicsAn understanding of the legal and corporate requirements of the NFP sector/ ACNC regulated entitiesHaving a clear understanding of the role of the board and its relationship with executive managementAdelaide PHN is an independent, not for profit (and Company Limited by Guarantee), primary health care organisation based in Adelaide, established and predominantly funded by the Australian Government. We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the Adelaide community by working in partnership to identify local needs and create responsive strategies to keep people well and out of hospital.
