Job Description

Keolis Downer (KD) is a leading private provider of multimodal public transport in Australia, working collaboratively with State Governments to develop transports solutions that are tailored for all passengers, regardless of their background. In Adelaide, KD partnered with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport in early 2021 with the aim of delivering revitalised passenger train services to the local community and increasing public transport patronage across South Australia. Following recent business changes, KD will take on the critical role of custodian of the local network over the next decade, with a focus on asset management and maintenance . In the shorter term, KD will continue to focus on the provision of customer experience and security services for the next two years. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our engineering leadership team as Manager Track & Civils Engineering . This critical role provides governance, strategic leadership, and technical oversight across track, civils and structural engineering disciplines. You will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assets while driving innovation, systems integration, and performance outcomes aligned with business objectives. You will: Lead and govern track, civils and structures engineering operations across Keolis Downer Provide expert technical direction, develop engineering standards, and lead innovation in asset and maintenance planning Ensure integration and delivery of Asset Management Plans, Technical Maintenance Plans, and Annual Works Plans Monitor and report on asset performance and compliance with safety and legislative frameworks Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, senior leaders, and regulatory bodies Drive risk-based approaches to rail safety management and maintain RIM accreditation responsibilities About you: You will be required to have the following: Have a Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent preferred Must be able to obtain a Category 3 Non-Safety Critical Rail Worker health assessment Proven engineering leadership in a complex, multi-disciplinary rail environment Subject matter expertise in rail systems engineering, asset lifecycle, and infrastructure interfaces Strong knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks including RSNL and Safety Management Systems Understanding of ISO standards: 9001, 14001, 45001, 55001, 31000, 27005, and 15288 Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, business analysis, and financial modelling Skilled in influencing, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex regulatory environments.
