Job Description

Primary Function: To ensure supply of parts to Workshop and Field Service Technicians; Receival and inspection of parts; Despatch and delivery of parts; data entry and clerical duties as directedScope of DutiesGoods inwardsUnload goods using forklift and receive in all goods delivered to the companyCarry out inspection of goods received checking for damage to, quantity of and quality of items receivedPlace goods in bins and on racks, or stack bulky items on floorEnter all goods received onto the computer system and check the items received to the purchase order to ensure the order requirements are fulfilledStock controlTo keep control of all stock and to maintain LiftRite Hire & Sales interest and security for all its saleable assetsTo be responsible for the goods in / out and stores / bulk stores to comply with health and safety and insurance requirements and to generally maintain these areas in a tidy and orderly wayMaintain quality, batch control and traceability of all parts and ensure that company procedures are followedTo accurately pick stock items and issue items to workshop and field service technicians and update the computer system accordinglyTo assist with regular stock checks when requiredGoods outLoad goods onto trucks using forklift up to 4.5 tonneAccurately pick stock items in accordance with the outgoing paperwork ensuring conformance to the customer requirementsTo adequately package all orders for safe delivery to customers and dispatch / load goods for deliveryAccurately complete Con Notes either manual or digital on transport companies websites or portalsPick Up / DeliveryConduct inspection of vehicle before departing to pick up / deliver goodsEnsure goods are properly restrained for transportDrive in a safe mannerPick up of parts or goods from suppliers as requiredDelivery of parts or goods to customers or service technicians as requiredGeneralConduct daily pre-start checks on forklift and / or other equipment before useOperate supplied equipment with due care, in accordance with set safety procedures and ensure that the equipment operational procedures are adhered toTo obtain details of stock location and quantity of items in stock using computer systemTo use company computer system to maintain accurate records, carry out stock transfers, change stock locations, etc.Move heavy packages using a forkliftTo assist with counting and recording the number of items in store during stock checks and stock-take when requiredTo use parts manuals and computer system to identify partsProvide backup support for parts staff with customer calls / customer ordersBe prepared to undertake any internal / external training as requiredComply with company policies and proceduresQuality assurance monitor and review processing Parts Department paperwork and work procedures and recommend changes where more efficient or effective work practices can be identifiedHealth and safety Work in a safe manner, keep the stores area / stores free of hazards, report all accidents and any potential hazards to the Parts Manager, avoid unsafe work practices at work, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with requirements of the current health and safety legislation health and safety legislationOther duties as directedMaintain good housekeeping of stores and delivery vehicleResponsible toParts ManagerLimits to AuthorityAs delegated by Parts ManagerQualifications and Experience RequiredPrevious experience in a similar roleKnowledge of stores proceduresCurrent C Class (manual) Drivers LicenceHigh Risk Work Licence LF (Forklift) ClassGood knowledge of metropolitan areaGood driving recordMechanical knowledge would be an advantageSkills RequiredAbility to plan workGood organisational skillsAbility to work well under pressureAbility to accept responsibility for completion of tasksAbility to read and use parts manualsAbility to work autonomouslyAbility to work as part of a teamPolite and courteous mannerGood telephone mannerMaterials handling skillsPage 2 of 2About the companyManitou BF SA is a France-based holding company engaged in the marketing and manufacture of machinery for the construction, agricultural and industrial sectors.
