This pivotal role within the People Services team is designed to collaboratively lead and support a variety of workforce planning, HR metrics and reporting, learning and development, and talent and succession activities. The Workforce Capability Manager will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement projects and supporting the objectives outlined in the Reef Authoritys Strategic Workforce Plan.In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and developing the necessary capabilities within our workforce to ensure the Reef Authority can effectively deliver its work program both now and in the future. This includes talent identification and management, contingency and succession planning, and setting strategic directions. You will lead employee development initiatives by providing strategic advice and designing innovative training programs in collaboration with senior management.Additionally, you will oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the Reef Authoritys Learning Management System (LMS) and manage entry-level pathway programs, including the Indigenous Apprenticeship Program (IAP). Your adaptability allows you to seamlessly transition from routine processing tasks to providing strategic advice.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic advice on capability development initiatives, significantly contributing to the development of workforce development strategies.Conduct comprehensive organisation-wide training needs assessments to identify skills or knowledge gaps and develop annual training plans for the Reef Authority.Consult and collaborate with managers, employees, and external entities to design and deliver relevant workplace training and development programs.Design and develop training programs, both outsourced and in-house, selecting appropriate methods such as simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, and professional development classes. Recommend new training methods and stay updated on the latest trends in the field.Coordinate and manage the training programMaintain and continuously improve the Reef Authoritys Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it serves as the central point for staff to access training information.
