Hospital@home registrar opportunities are available within the Department of Sub-acute, Aged & Community Services, Royal Hobart Hospital for 2026.The RHH is the largest hospital in Tasmania and serves as the referral centre for numerous tertiary services across the state.The Hospital@home program, part of the Department of Sub-acute, Aged & Community Services, provides care to a variety of medical, surgical, and sub-specialty patients who can be managed in the community setting.Established in April 2020, the program currently has 30 beds (20 acute and 10 subacute Geriatric Evaluation and Management beds). It also features a Rapid Response service assessing community patients to prevent hospital admissions, operating 7 days a week with around 200 assessments monthly. The average length of stay is 5-6 days for acute patients and 13 days for subacute patients.Our patient demographic is broad, with over 60% admitted directly from the community, avoiding hospital admission. Others are transferred from inpatient wards or emergency departments at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and are cared for in community health centres, their homes, or residential aged care facilities.These registrar positions are accredited with RACP for Basic Physician Training; with RACP & ACRRM for GP & Rural Remote trainees; and with ACEM for Emergency trainees.This role is ideal for registrars interested in providing inpatient-level care within the community, with access to training from their specialist programs and the Hospital@home team.Tasmania offers an excellent lifestyle, combining a relaxed environment with the training and career opportunities in medicine at RHH. #J-18808-Ljbffr
