About the RoleAre you a First Nations Registered Nurse with teaching experience? Acknowledge Education is developing our Diploma, Bachelor, and Master (pre-registration) of Nursing programs. We seek a First Nations Registered Nurse to write our First Nations units and advise on other units, ensuring cultural sensitivity from a First Nation perspective.It is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, which is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.Key Responsibilities include:Lecturing, teaching, assessing, and marking Nursing students.Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.Teaching lecture and tutorial classes.Developing the First Nations units for Diploma, Bachelor, and Masters level Nursing courses.Advising on the suitability of other units from a First Nations perspective, ensuring cultural appropriateness.Assisting in developing support services and systems for First Nation students.Occasionally coordinating or leading activities of other staff in the same discipline.Engaging in teaching evaluations, maintaining professional development, and pursuing new teaching methodologies.Identifying and monitoring students at risk of failing and organizing support efforts.Maintaining high professional and ethical standards, including self-management, resilience, and collaboration.About YouPostgraduate qualification in Nursing.At least 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.Demonstrated lived experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and community engagement.Strong understanding of nursing theory and practice.Excellent presentation and leadership skills.Advantageous but not required:Enrolment or completion of a PhD related to Nursing.Relevant tertiary teaching experience.Evidence of teaching achievements and results.Working with Childrens Check.Notes: This is an Identified position under Section 27(4) of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
