The RoleAdbri Cement has an exciting opportunity in our NATA-accredited laboratory division for an enthusiastic candidate eager to upskill and try something new at our Cement Plant in Birkenhead, SA.This permanent, full-time position requires no prior experience, qualifications, or degreejust an enthusiastic attitude and a desire to learn compliance testing of construction materials related to cement manufacturing.The role involves working Monday to Friday with a rotating weekend roster, including some Saturdays from 7am to 11am at overtime rates.Note: The role involves physical movement and lifting.Multiple positions are available, including one 12-month maternity leave contract.Training and rotations include:Sample Preparation: Techniques such as riffling, drying, crushing, grinding, weighing, and data entry.Mortar Testing: Casting prisms and testing strength, shrinkage, sulfate resistance, temperature rise, setting time, and soundness of cement, fly ash, slag, and lime materials.Concrete Making and Testing: Producing concrete per Australian standards and testing for strength, shrinkage, setting times, bleed, air content, and density.Chemical Laboratory Testing: Analyzing chemical characteristics of various materials.ResponsibilitiesProviding accurate and timely testing results to meet customer expectations.Building positive relationships within a close-knit team.Following procedures and work systems systematically and safely.Applying initiative and suggesting improvements.Qualifications and SkillsNo experience or degree necessary; laboratory experience is a plus.Pass a medical exam including drug and alcohol testing.Undergo a National Police check.Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.Strong communication and literacy skills.Ability to work independently and in a team.Proficient with computers and applying initiative.BenefitsStructured onboarding program.Forklift license provision.Employee perks, discounts, and benefits to support your career and personal life.Join us to gain experience in a leading Australian construction materials laboratory with opportunities for career growth.About UsAdbri Cement, formerly Adelaide Brighton Cement, has been a trusted name since 1882.
