No matter what corporate or support role you play in delivering our critical services to Victorians, you will join a team dedicated to bringing our vision to be a world leading ambulance service to life.About The RoleAmbulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitably experienced Senior Procurement leader for the position of Chief Procurement Officer.Reporting to the Executive Director, Enterprise Services, this key leadership position will deliver a high level of strategic vision, leadership and direction to drive value-add procurement planning, sourcing and contract management aligned with AV''s strategic priorities and business needs.With overall accountability to our procurement function, procurement strategy, category management and supplier engagement to ensure compliance with frameworks, policies and other legislative requirements as well as value-for-money, this position will be critical to:Provision of expert and authoritative advice to Board, Committees, Senior Executives and key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement strategy and practice to inform plans, actions, enhanced value and innovative approachesDevelopment and implementation of overarching policies, procedures, systems, structures and frameworks for all procurement related activities to deliver and monitor best practice procurement and contract managementEnsuring effective governance processes are in place for AV''s provider, supplier and contractor management tendering, procurement and contracting policies, processes and outcomesDriving strategic thinking, collaboration, continuous improvement and capability development, whilst optimising procurement quality, productivity and performance outcomesProviding open and effective leadership to build a high performance, collaborative culture the fosters high performance, efficiency, continuous improvement and developmentLeading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical behaviours consistent with AV values (CARE)About YouSuited to a highly motivated and strategic senior leader with significant procurement experience, the successful applicant will possess:Tertiary qualifications or industry specialised certifications with extensive, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive training and experienceProfessional qualification/certification from a related professional body (e.g Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply CIPS)Previous extensive experience as a Chief Procurement Office or equivalent in the public or private sectorDemonstrated experience in creating significant savings, driving transformation and gaining efficiencies across a large and diverse procurement portfolioExperience in driving and implementing strategic cultural, organisational, and transformational change and a commitment to build a responsive, future focused and contemporary procurement culture at a senior levelA high level of communication with an ability to build and maintain relationships and influence, negotiate, and generate buy-in with a range of stakeholders across all levels, including board and executive levelsA coaching, mentoring and leadership approach to motivate, encourage, and support teams across the employee lifecycleWorking at Ambulance VictoriaAs a valued member of AV you will enjoy a professional working environment that recognises the importance of work/life balance.
