A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityReporting to the Program Director, SSN Sustainment you will be working closely with multiple business areas and will be accountable for ensuring the effective; planning, execution and close out of all SSN Sustainment Program activities in Pearl Harbor Hawaii, HMAS Stirling, and Henderson - Western Australia, and Operational Period Maintenance (OPM) in domestic and international ports as required. The GM Program Delivery is also accountable for ensuring the effective planning, implementation and close out of all SSN Sustainment maintenance, modernisation, upgrades, ensuring all the above are managed in accordance with ASC project management practices including detailed management of scope, schedule, cost and risk.In doing this, you will enable consistent and reliable performance which manages risk and develops trust internally and externally to our customer, including aligning activities with ASCs Strategy and assisting ASC to meet any relevant contractual deliverables. Working with the MCS Program leadership team, the position is required to maintain a strategic perspective across the entire business and consider a wide range of longer-term issues, opportunities and risks to ensure ongoing business success. The GM Program Delivery shall also act as the Deputy Program Director for SSN Sustainment.ResponsibilitiesExecute the SSN Sustainment strategy, ensuring its alignment to overall business strategy.Set clear, and actionable goals to ensure delivery of strategic objectives. Take ownership for driving results through these goals.Ensure that areas of responsibility identify and implement best practices and meet industry leading standards and expectations.Ensure alignment and coordination across departments and facilitate collaboration where necessary including through building and maintaining relationships.Identify potential risks to the SSN Sustainment program and project delivery and develop mitigation strategies for these, including developing programs and initiatives which address concerns proactively.Projects need to be safely delivered in accordance with the program Integrated Master schedule (IMS) and the individual project management baselines for scope, schedule, cost (EVMS) and quality.Effectively manage, track, report and reallocate budget as necessary to ensure optimised allocation.Oversee the maintenance of SSN-Sustainment capability by completing out of water and in water maintenance.Support the execution of customer change requirements via the implementation of new SSN-Sustainment design updates and upgrades.Support the provision of rapid response planning for Navy requirementsDevelop and maintain relationships with key ASC Industry Partners and Commonwealth (Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG)), and regulatory authorities.About youTertiary qualification in Project Management, engineering, business, management or related field (advanced degree preferred)Advanced skills and experience in the full range of project management services.Minimum 10 years experience in a senior project management/planning role, preferably in Defence / shipbuilding sector, with a focus on submarine sustainment.Strong proficiency in naval sustainment including the planning, preparation, and execution of organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance.Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar contracts with contract deliverables completed safely on time.Demonstrated ability to plan large scale complex projects in the maritime industry.Demonstrated ability to identify and implement interventions and high-quality solutions to complex problems.Demonstrated ability to grow, lead and develop high performing teams in complex environments.Demonstrated ability to prioritise limited resources and make effective trade off decisions.Due to complex environment, a high degree of stakeholder management both internally and externally is essential.EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology.
