Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager is primarily responsible for the success of CJD Equipments Volvo Construction business in New South Wales. This includes providing excellent customer service, ensuring the safety of all stakeholders, meeting or exceeding all company & supplier targets and providing superior returns for shareholders. Success will be achieved by leading, coaching and mentoring a dedicated team of engaged and enthusiastic employees. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining a positive corporate culture.This position has responsibility for the various functions of the State including Sales, Parts, Service, Administration, Maintenance, People & Culture, OHS, and Compliance. You will work in conjunction with the department management team to successfully manage and grow business within New South Wales.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsure that customers receive excellent Customer ServiceOversee Branch and Department Managers operational initiatives to ensure the business activities are contributing to the achievement of short- and long-term profit objectivesManage business forecasts, budgets, and reports on aspects of profitability, capital expenditure, and operational performance.Review, authorise, and report on major quotes and submissions within NSWImprove performance through people and processes in line with business requirementsEnsure compliance to company policy and legislative requirements at all times.Maintain regular contact with key clients, suppliers, industry & government representatives and other internal stakeholdersUndertake on-the-job coaching and mentoring with direct reports and ensure regular contact is made regarding business developments and performanceOversee and enforce safe working practices.Key AttributesDue to the technical and operational requirements of this role, we expect that the successful candidate will have a background in the capital equipment market or other related industries. Other key attributes will include:Leadership skills in a specialized sales environment and excellent business and financial acumen.High energy and a can-do attitude with a result focus. The successful person will be collaborative in their approach with an ability to motivate teams for success.A good working knowledge of equipment operations, mechanical functions, and parts operationsA working knowledge of equipment specifications and industrial engineering principlesUnderstanding of financial reporting principlesAn effective listening and communication style along with the ability to engage people at all levels.Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.Self-motivated and punctual, with excellent time management skills.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join a dynamic and growing company with a national scope of responsibility.
