Direct message the job poster from JMES (Jon Michel Executive Search)Partner at Jon Michel Executive Search and Owner, Jon Michel Executive SearchIndependent National Government AgencyCommunity & Housing FocusWhole of Risk OwnershipOur client is an independent national housing agency who work with the private sector, community housing providers and all levels of Government to facilitate and deliver programs that help more Australians to access social and affordable housing or to buy a home.Based in Sydney and reporting to the CEO, as the Chief Risk Officer you will be part of the Leadership team and provide strategic leadership of the Risk function including accountability for second line risk management for financial and non-financial risk.Key responsibilities will include to:Continue to develop & implement comprehensive risk management frameworks & provide expert advice to business units to identify, mitigate & manage both financial & non-financial risks across the groupEnsure the organisation operates within its defined risk appetite, maintains compliance with regulatory requirements & supports the achievement of its strategic objectivesFoster a risk-aware culture across the organisation, embedding effective risk management practices & providing strategic oversight on all risk-related mattersProviding strategic leadership in designing & deploying risk management solutions that align with government policy to improve housing outcomesSupport the CEO & CIO in the development & execution of housing programs & advising the CEO, Investment Committee & Board on risk management prioritiesManage key relationships with stakeholders including Commonwealth Treasury, financial institutions, developers & housing authoritiesOversee the risk management across delivery of major investment programsIt is expected as the successful candidate that you will have well developed skills and experience, including:A relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance, economics or a related field is essential. Postgraduate qualifications are highly desirableStrong leadership skills with at least 10+ years risk management experience including executive leadership experience with significant autonomyUnderstanding of housing including the development cycle & investment propositionExperience presenting/participating on Investment Committees and/or Boards.
