Committed to world-class practices, AUMS aims to be the contractor of choice in the African underground hard rock mining industry.Due to expanding scope and new work fronts, we are actively seeking experienced Underground HD Fitters/Technicians on a 6:3 roster to join our African operations. The role emphasizes developing local workers'' skills through sharing your experience and serving as a role model. Candidates should possess energy, resilience, determination, and a genuine interest in working with diverse cultures.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform scheduled servicing of mobile equipment safely, following procedures, regulations, and service sheets.Mentor, coach, and develop national trades personnel.Utilize skills and experience to minimize machinery downtime.Accurately record and report maintenance activities.Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshops and work areas.Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.Report equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling.Demonstrate a passion for safety and proactively promote safety awareness among all employees.Train less qualified tradespeople to high standards in a high-productivity underground mining environment.Work with latest generation SANDVIK, CAT, and Atlas underground mobile equipment and automation systems.Possess at least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in the underground mining industry working on large mobile equipment.Have strong troubleshooting skills for electric hydraulic drilling equipment.Possess good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.Be competent in auto electrics, hydraulic circuit schematics, and diesel engine maintenance.Be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.Maintain an excellent service and maintenance approach.Hold a valid international drivers license.Your proactive safety attitude and strong work ethic will make you a valued team member aligned with AUMSs values and can do attitude.
