We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.About the RoleJoining our team in Kensington on a permanent part time basis, you will support various people with disability who access our respite services. We are looking for candidates who are able to quickly build positive relationships and are enthusiastic about providing active support and getting involved in the varying interests of the people accessing the respite service this may range from getting involved in arts and crats, sports, shopping or accessing the community.No two days will be the same with most people being supported staying in the respite for 2 nights at a time and so, the successful candidate will have experience across a range of disability support including manual handling, personal care, modified meal management and medication administration.The successful candidate must be able to commit to the following set roster of 50 hours per fortnight:Week 1: Fri 3-11pm and Sat & Sun 9am 5pmWeek 2: Fri 3pm 9am (sleepover shift) and Sat & Sun 5pm 9am (sleepover shift)Key ResponsibilitiesFollow person-centred support and behaviour plansFacilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activitiesMaintain thorough record keepingBuild positive relationships with clients, families and colleaugesAdvocate for client choice and controlSkills & ExperienceExperience working with people with disabilityPrevious experience working with behaviour support plansExperience with personal care and manual handlingStrong computer and verbal and written communication skillsA current First Aid and CPR CertificateSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.Minimum hourly rate from $33.41Stable, predictable rosters and paid leave entitlementsDo meaningful work in a company that champions diversity, inclusivity and equalityReceive up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax free with salary packagingAccess to discounts on private health insurance, cinemas, restaurants and moreAccess to Fitness Passport (workplace health and fitness program that gives you and your family access to a choice of gyms and pools across your area)How to ApplyInclude your resume and covering letter in one document, click Apply and follow the prompts.
