Youll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces.The OpportunityReporting to the Senior Land Management Officer, you will provide administrative and customer service support to the program, in addition to site visits with landowners and site inspections.The Land Management Officer is responsible for assisting with the implementation of sustainable land management programs in partnership with rural landowners in the City of Melton. Councils Environmental Enhancement Program supports rural landowners through a rate rebate for controlling weeds, pest animals and managing their land sustainably.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative and customer service support to the delivery of the Environmental Enhancement Program, including phone calls, mail outs, data entry and maintenance, report writing and site visits with landowners.Provide technical advice to landowners and assist them to develop works plans for improved environmental and land management outcomes, working collaboratively and constructively.Assist the Senior Land Management Officer with annual site inspections and assessments.Participate in and deliver community engagement / education activities which promote sustainable land management practices.To view the Position Description, click here .About youTo be successful in this role you will have the following:Tertiary qualifications in land management, conservation or agriculture, or lesser qualification with extensive relevant work experience.Native vegetation and sustainable land management knowledge and skills.Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution, facilitating behaviour change and engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Project/program management skills including tracking systems and reporting.Current valid Victorian Drivers Licence with 4WD training or experience preferredCulture and ValuesOur vision for our community is to be:"A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means theres a place here for you too.Our organisational values represent us as an established growth Council and the values are reflected in everything we do; our decision-making, our actions and our service provision to the community.
