Youll be part of a shaping the future of our business by building demand for freight on rail not only to help Australia achieve its Net Zero targets but also contributing to safer roads and a more cost-effective mode of transport.At ARTC, we exist to keep Australia moving and the Development team plays a pivotal role in building the case for rail as a sustainable and efficient transport solution for our nation.About The OpportunityThe role will lead and provide analytical and commercial advice related to Hunter Valley Access Undertaking for the development division to support a solid foundation of cost and revenue reporting and support the leaders who liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the business unit provides quality commercial and customer focused solutions in the delivery of the day to day operations.Have a complete understanding and assist where required in the contract and compliance management for the HVAU and AHA, with supporting contract registers for Access Holders and Operators, an appropriate document management structure and oversight of month end functions and reporting.Lead the detailed financial modelling for accurate and timely pricing, revenue forecasts and regulatory compliance (ACCC and IPART).Lead the development of the annual compliance submission working with the relevant teams to meet regulatory requirements.Manage the day to day workflow and performance management of the Commercial Analyst and Commercial Officer.Ensure the integrity and relevance of the Hunter Valley Access Undertaking financial models.Have an understanding and support where required the preparation of contractual and supporting documentation for Access Holders, including contract variations, schedules, correspondence and notices, and where appropriate leading negotiations and investigating commercial disputes.Advise on the impacts of capacity movements, network growth and customer considerations that influence revenue and costs and associated contractual implications.Provide relevant information to support internal corporate finance requirements, such as access revenue forecasts for fair value purposes.Ensure commercial aspects of the Customer Contracts team are aligned with ARTC Finance team and improve the interfaces between the two teams.Assist in the compilation and assessment of business cases for proposals relating to the Hunter Valley Coal Network and whole of business, including viability of new business proposals.What do we want from you?To ensure success in this position, applicants will ideally be able to demonstrate:Essential CriteriaProven experience in comprehending, advising and planning work outcomes with complex commercial/legal overlaps in a service oriented business.Advanced analytical and numeracy skills including, a demonstrable logical and analytical approach to problem solving.Highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Demonstrable interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of staff as part of a team.Desirable CriteriaPrevious experience in a similar advisory role with evidence of a commercial and governance focus.Project management experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.Experience in the rail industry.Experience in development and deployment of commercially focused information systems.Experience in the development of corporate strategy and logistics.QualificationsTertiary qualifications in commerce or business.Demonstrated commercial acumen.What will you get from us?Talk to us about flexible working optionsCompetitive remunerationResources to support your health and wellbeing and developmentNovated leasing options, as well as discounts and support programs24/7 Employee Assistance Program for all employees and their direct family membersOur Organisation and CultureAt ARTC, were more than just a rail network.
