The Deflector Operation includes two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained within a series of structurally complex lodes, specifically the Deflector and Deflector South West deposits. Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Graduate Mining Engineer will support the Deflector Technical Services team by assisting in detailed drill and blast designs, mine planning, scheduling, and ongoing projects. This role offers practical experience to qualify for the First-Class WA Mine Managers Certificate of Competency. The position requires working safely and in compliance with all company standards, guidelines, and procedures. The role will be offered on either an 8:6 or 15:13 roster, with FIFO options from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton. Key Responsibilities Assist with the development and execution of mine plans, including ventilation, backfill, and drill-and-blast designs. Follow instructions provided by senior engineers. Collaborate effectively with technical services teams, contractors, and other stakeholders. Ensure all tasks are completed safely and on schedule. Participate actively in planning and production meetings. Conduct regular underground inspections. Assist in preparing weekly and monthly mining schedules. About You Hold a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering with up to 2 years of underground mining engineering experience. Understand statutory requirements of the WA Mining Act and Regulations, as well as the WHS Act. Proactive with a strong commitment to workplace safety. Possess excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Hold a C Class drivers license and a Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable). Proficient in MS Office; experience with Deswick or Datamine is advantageous but not essential.
