DIRECTOR - COMMISSIONING, PROCUREMENT & CONTRACTSDIRECTOR - COMMISSIONING, PROCUREMENT & CONTRACTSReference 7M47EAD1SA Public Sector Employees OnlyDivision: Department for Child ProtectionLocation: Adelaide CBDSalary Range:Classification: SAES1Engagement Type: TermClosing Date: 08 Jun 2025 11:00 PMRole HighlightsFull-time term vacancy from 16 June 2025 to 22 August 2025.Lead the strategic direction and management of sector wide commissioning, procurement and contract management.Deliver enhanced benefits and value to the clients of DCP, stakeholders and NGO partners.The Director for Commissioning, Procurement and Contracts is responsible for leading the strategic direction and management of sector wide commissioning, procurement and contract management.Key Accountabilities:Designing and executing a procurement and contract management strategy, supported by tactical and innovative procurement programs and contract management practices to deliver enhanced benefits and value to the clients of DCP, stakeholders and NGO partners.Developing and implementing organisational procurement policies and processes to ensure a consistent and standardised approach to drive improvements and efficiencies in procurement activities.Leading the research and analysis of market trends and best practices to ensure sourcing, procurement and contract management strategies are current, risks are identified, and governance frameworks are effective.Supervising the management of critical commercial, contractual, operational, financial, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on organisation objectives.Managing the effective acquisition and utilisation of human, financial and physical resources, determine workgroup outcomes and ensure policies, systems and processes are in place to plan, develop and monitor team performance in the achievement of required outcomes.Essential Capabilities:Effective management and leaderships skills, including the ability to provide broad direction to multi-disciplinary teams working on projects requiring high quality results within defined timeframes.Knowledge of procurement excellence strategies, government procurement framework, legislation, policies and procedures and the ability to demonstrate the benefits of procurement and contracting to the broader department.Experience in leading a successful procurement and contracting function whilst delivering best practice procurement solutions and effective contract management practices across the department.Demonstrated ability to analyse and conceptualise issues, formulate and execute appropriate solutions and negotiate successful outcomes in an innovative and resourceful manner.Experience in providing strategic advice and influence in decision-making and strategic direction in procurement and contract management.This is a critical role that will be pivotal in shaping strategic direction, forging relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and driving business excellence.
