The role is an essential part of the perioperative nursing team that cares for and monitors patients as they recover from anesthesia effects. Recovery nurses are responsible for all aspects of patient care following surgery, including monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and respiration, as well as managing pain and nausea post-anesthesia.Recovery nurses must think critically, make confident decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in providing expert clinical and patient-centered care, supporting the delivery of quality and cost-effective nursing services aligned with contemporary standards and evidence-based practice.The Friendlies hospital has a five-theatre complex offering a wide range of surgeries, including ENT, Orthopaedic, General, Plastic and Cosmetic, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.The PersonApplicants should demonstrate the organizations values of Courage, Diligence, Compassion, Wisdom, and Friendliness, and be able to apply these in the workplace.Key Selection CriteriaEvidence of tertiary qualifications & current registration with AHPRAPostgraduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards) - highly desirableCertified in Advanced Life SupportMinimum 1 year experience in a Recovery settingAbility to think critically and make confident decisions in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of RosterOn, Riskman, Trendcare, and Microsoft applicationsKnowledge of patient flow and bed managementAttention to detail, accurate documentation, and confidentialityHow to ApplyPlease submit:A cover letter addressing the Key Selection Criteria (max 2 pages)A detailed resume including 2 professional refereesApplications are to be submitted on our website: Applications not meeting the requirements will not be shortlisted.
