This role will be based in Sydney CBD on a full-time basis.You will make efficient technical decisions whilst providing exceptional customer service to our clients. This role will also see you take ownership and management of a portfolio of travel claims, liaise with relevant parties, assess liability and financial exposure, and make recommendations for the future strategy of each claim.We offer flexible hybrid working which helps our employees create a healthy work-life balance! All your technology needs will also be provided for you to perform your role.Responsibilities1) Ownership and management of a portfolio of claims Early and effective coverage analysis Assessment and justification of reserves in line with authority levels Employ proactive early intervention strategies to reduce claims cost Develop a strategy for claim resolution Timely scheduling of an independent medical examination (IME) Appointment of an investigator (where applicable) Prioritise tasks to oversee up to 150 claim files (depending on claim type) Complete general administration for each claim file Assessment of recovery prospects2) Ownership and maintenance of loss funds Trust Accounts where appropriate Manage clients trust account including payment of service provider invoices and settlements Reconciliation of Trust Accounts Oversight of monthly claims report3) Maintain the client relationship to achieve superior results Communicate effectively with claimants, clients, brokers, investigators, insurers and medical practitioners through written and verbal means Demonstrate effective negotiation and liaison techniques with clients, claimants, lawyers, brokers, insurers and service providers Provide training, as required, to the insured to facilitate improved risk management Report to and update relevant stakeholders regarding claims as required Facilitate regular and structured contact with clients4) Competent use of systems and processes in claim management Effective use of Propel and Microsoft Office applications Understand and adhere to Proclaim processes and procedures Understand insurance policy review, application and policy coverage5) Supporting the achievement of company goals and vision Effective file and claim management to support Proclaim in meeting objectives and targets (budget, new business and existing business) Account retention and development of new business Utilise marketing and networking opportunities Support other team members as requiredWhat will help you succeed in this role?Accuracy, attention to detail and qualityTime management and demonstrated ability to prioritise and multi- taskEffective Negotiation and advocacy abilityStrong verbal and written communication including sound telephone mannerComputer skills Usage of internal systemsDrafting documents, letter writing and typing abilityAbility to run and interpret reportsSolid analytical and dispute resolution abilityRelationship buildingPresentation skillsTechnical Skills:Broad understanding of Accident & Health & Travel insurance policiesUnderstanding of the Insurance Contracts ActUnderstanding of the Insurance Code of Practice and Privacy CodeUnderstanding the role of brokers and industry stakeholdersInterpretation of policy/clauses/exclusionsSolid understanding of the client structure, fee structure and invoice processAbility to assess quantum and reserve effectivelyAbility to identify conflicts of interestUnderstanding of Lloyds of London key processesWhat we offerAt DWF, we deeply appreciate the significance of offering a comprehensive rewards package that extends beyond a basic salary.
