There are approximately 290 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 350 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.About the roleDrone Shields Production Team is growing to support higher production volumes and increasing product complexity. We are looking for a Production Technician to join the team, with a strong focus on mechanical and electronic assembly, as well as hands-on testing using RF equipment.This role will contribute to both the production of established products and the testing and refinement of new designs in collaboration with our Technical Team. A solid understanding of electronics and RF systems is preferred, as is familiarity with working across different stages of the product lifecycle. While soldering is not a requirement for this role, prior experience with soldering cables and PCBAs is a valuable advantage.This position reports primarily to the Manufacturing Manager and involves close collaboration with team members across Production, Design, and Procurement. Its an ideal opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for technology, looking to grow their career within a fast-paced, ASX-listed defence technology company.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsAssemble DroneShield products with precision, following detailed build documentation and assembly proceduresHandle and assemble sensitive electronic components using proper ESD-safe proceduresConduct product testing using a range of RF test equipment, including VNAs, spectrum analysers and anechoic chamberAccurately complete travellers, QC records, and other production documentation as part of the build processOccasionally assist with soldering tasks during production or R&D supportMaintain a clean and organised work area to support efficient production flowProvide feedback to the Production and Design teams to improve build processes and product designQualifications, Experience and SkillsProven experience in manufacturing, particularly with complex product assembliesStrong background in electro-mechanical assemblyAbility to interpret and follow detailed assembly and testing proceduresSkilled in reading and understanding complex technical documentationConfident using computers and comfortable working with software tools for documentation, data entry, testing logs, and production trackingHands-on experience with RF testing and equipment is highly desirableTertiary qualification in Engineering or a relevant technical certification is highly desirableGenuine passion for technology and innovationExceptional attention to detail and commitment to qualityCapable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong sense of integrity and commitment to following established processesExcellent multitasking skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and perform under pressureClear and effective communication skills, both written and verbalProactive can-do attitude, with a willingness to assist across a range of tasks, even those outside the core roleNote for recruitment agencies: we do not accept floated candidates from external recruiters unless they were instructed to do so. #J-18808-Ljbffr
