We are a major grower and processor of eggs and value-added egg products operating 8 company farms on the east coast and maintaining 2 major grading and processing facilities.What''s the job?The Assistant Farm Manager is an integral part of our leadership team, responsible for assisting the Farm Manager with the overall management of the farm site. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring best practice in OHS, animal welfare, production, and farm maintenance. The role is hands-on, and the manager must be prepared to work directly with livestock, with flexible hours, including evenings and alternating weekends.Manage daily shed checksAssist with basic repairs and coordination of repairs and maintenanceSupervise team and ensure appropriate allocation of dutiesAssist the Farm Manager with general operation of the farmComplete compliance paperwork e.g., checklists & order formsAdhere to GMP & HACCP protocolsWhat experience are we looking for?To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the agricultural farming sector, with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Leading Hand or Assistant Farm Manager, or possess a Bachelors degree or higher qualification.Experience in laying/rearing farm environments is highly desired, especially working with poultry.Experience in the use of farm machinery.Experience leading a team.Self-motivated, with effective time management skills and a flexible attitude to working hours.Mechanical aptitude.Positive attitude.Drivers license.Enjoy your work we work hard but love to have fun!Please note: Due to strict biosecurity requirements, you must not have any birds, pigs, or poultry at home and be willing to maintain quarantine policies and procedures.
