Job Description

As part of our Commercial group, the Senior Commercial Officer will be working closely with various Commercial Managers, and will provide high quality commercial assistance on a diverse range of corporate and commercial projects in both the defence and civil solutions sectors.Further, the successful candidate will:Commercial ManagementUndertake contractual administration of projects to maximise commercial outcomes of the contract.Preparing survey and quotes, contract change proposals, escalation claims, extensions of time, payments, instructions, and export control matters.Draft a range of commercial documents to facilitate project outcomes.Liaise with internal stakeholders on the review and approval of agreements and contracts.NegotiationAssist Commercial Managers with negotiations with customers relating to contractual issues, teaming arrangements, licensing arrangements and confidentiality agreements to ensure commercial integrity.AdviceProvide commercial advice to project and tender teams ensuring that key commercial, legal, and contractual issues are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner.Liaise with the Procurement team on flow-down commercial requirements for subcontracts and purchase orders.Tender and ProposalsProactive in commercial and contractual matters including the preparation of Request for Tender, subcontracts, statements of compliances and other tender response documentation.Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes, and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, Health & safety, Bullying, Harassment, Violence and Aggression, and duty of care and the quality management system.Treat everyone with respect, communicate regularly and openly with manager and team, and ensure all decisions are made with fairness in mind.Perform other duties as assigned.This is a Fixed Term 1 year Contract, the position is open in SA or VIC, preference would be in VICAbout youYour skills and experience will include:Demonstrated experience in a commercial role.Good working knowledge of commercial and contractual administrative processes and techniques.A sound understanding of principles of contract law.Experience in a commercial environment including contract preparation, negotiation, administration, and management of contractual relationships.Tertiary Qualifications in relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Business or Commerce).Demonstrate self-awareness and commitment to personal development, leading by example.Utilise a collaborative, accountable, and innovative approach to deliver results.Stay relevant in their expertise, adapting proactively to changing needs.Effectively manage time, deadlines, and competing demands through influential communication skills.Ability to work under pressure when required but able to balance performance and wellbeingAs Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level or can gain one.About usSaab Australia is a defence, security and cyber solutions provider, specialising in the development and integration of major defence and security systems.
