Consideration will be given to General Adult Psychiatrists. The services for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service are provided across multiple sites.Central Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service, based in Rockhampton CBD, includes the Prison Mental Health Service, Court Liaison Service, and a Forensic Liaison Officer. Capricornia Correctional Centre, an adult male prison, services Central Queensland with 900 inmates; female prisoners and juveniles are incarcerated in Brisbane or Townsville.The consultant team comprises 17.5 positions with subspecialty interests including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Prison, and Forensic Mental Health.RequirementsApplicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or an equivalent overseas-trained specialist from the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified), or New Zealand.The Medical Board of Australia has introduced a new expedited pathway to specialist registration, removing the need for a specialist assessment with a medical college for those with accepted qualifications in Psychiatry. This pathway, available from December 2024, accepts MRCPsych and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
