Your opportunity. Be part of something much bigger.Miwatj Health Allied Health Team is currently seeking a Miyalk Navigator to join their team in Nhulunbuy. This is a permanent, part-time position working 15 hours per week.In this important Djama, the Miyalk Navigator will walk alongside Yolu women throughout their pregnancy journey, offering skilled support and companionship every step of the way. This includes care and guidance across a range of settingsfrom local communities and remote primary healthcare clinics to regional and urban maternity care services.If youre passionate about supporting Yolu families and making a real difference in the community, wed love to hear from you.About Miwatj Health Aboriginal CorporationMiwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, were committed to providing quality services across East Arnhem Land and enabling Yolu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary and public health for over 6,000 residents of this remote landscape. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, and a Corporate Office in Darwin, our delivery is focused on 7 health centres across East Arnhem Land and dedicated outreach teams who travel to additional locations.What were looking for in you!The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Aboriginal Community Control, Yolu culture, and the health issues faced in remote communities; Capacity to develop; or demonstrated effective English, Yolu Matha and intercultural communication skills. A willingness to provide care and support to pregnant women using Yolu Matha; and adequate confidence to use English in advocating to healthcare staff about womens needs and aspirations during sexual and reproductive healthcare.Vaccination & Immunity ScreeningMiwatj Health is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our team and our clients.
