The branch is responsible for the coordination of the Western Shield program, Cane Toad Strategy and Vegetation Health Service diagnostic laboratory as well as providing policy support for the implementation of the Forest Management Plan.We currently have opportunities to join our team in the roles of Forest Practices Officer and Forest Practices Officer (Silviculture).Under the limited direction of the Coordinator Forest Practices, the Forest Practices Officer will assist the forest practices team to implement adaptive management trials and innovative approaches to monitoring and forest operations surveillance using aerial and field-based methods, while working in a collaborative manner with stakeholders. In addition, the position will undertake analysis, interpretation and reporting on data collected from monitoring programs and implement work priorities and projects. The position also prepares correspondence, reports, assist with training and presentations. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with Senior Silviculturist and Forest Practices Officer (Silviculture) across the programs as required.Under the limited direction of the Senior Silviculturist, the Forest Practices Officer (Silviculture) will assist the forest practices team to implement adaptive management trials and innovative approaches to monitoring and forest operations surveillance using aerial and field-based methods, while working in a collaborative manner with stakeholders.
