More About the Role at Club Med Club Med Australia is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their passionate, dynamic team of travel lovers! Help drive revenue and sales activities for a dedicated account portfolio within the allocated territory of New South Wales, which includes Sydney Metro, NSW South Coast, NSW Central West, and the Australian Capital Territory. This Hybrid role is perfect for a BDM with experience in the travel industry. Mission 1: To achieve, at minimum, the set budgets and drive growth for defined accounts. - Be responsible for achievement of set budget at minimum and contribute to the overall success of Australia - To strategically forward plan and develop a sales and marketing plan accordingly - To be responsible for end of season / year reporting: ROI of activities - To be business minded & to assess and implement growth actions in taking calculated risks - Be responsible in understanding current trends and proactively propose ideas / solutions to competition - Provide Bi-annual reporting to Management with key learnings Mission 2: Manage the defined accounts by ways of a strategic plan and identify areas and opportunities for new business. - Define and implement an effective yearly business growth plan in line with objectives and needs - Be responsible for activities, recommendations/implementation upon validation of Head of Sales-Trade. - To clearly identify points of difference and key target for each partner (BV / branding / demographic etc) - To aim at recruiting new upscale customers as a key priority (new prospection) - Build solid relations with new and existing partners to maximise our opportunities - To provide comprehensive product training where relevant in line with our upscale positioning Mission 3: Optimise Trade Partner agreements via the preferred networks - Work closely with the Trade Marketing Manager to ensure all aspects of the Preferred Partner Agreement for each defined account are maximized. - Be responsible for creating opportunities with joint incentives to promote Club Med through the partners network. - Be the support contact for the chains in NSW & ACT liaising with product managers and marketing teams to efficiently communicate and leverage opportunities & priorities. - Manage organization of Expos / Trade Events for State activities in conjunction with Trade Marketing Manager. - Be an expert in Club Meds policies and procedures - Build solid relations with new and existing partners Mission 4: Leverage existing relationships and develop new opportunities to deliver group business for the Meetings & Events team - Training and development with agencies to increase knowledge of Club Med Meetings & Events in NSW & ACT. - Work closely with Meetings & Events team to drive Affinity group opportunities. - Look for arising group opportunities in defined territory to support Meetings & Events budget - Understand the USPs of Meetings & Events and develop strong presentation skills in order to have the ability to pitch for new business Mission 5: To represent Club Med upscale positioning and its values at all times - Be recognized as a Club Med ambassador promoting Club Meds unique & upscale positioning at all times. - To behave in an upscale and respectful manner at all times when representing Club Med - Respect & embrace Club Meds 5 core company values: Multicultural / Pioneer / Kindness / Freedom / Responsibility Job experience: 5 years experience in the sales/tourism/trade industry with 3 years minimum in an on-road sales or accounts management position Knowledge: General knowledge of travel & tourism market (networks, specificities), Club Med knowledge of the services and products a plus, B2B sales knowledge, understanding of sales conditions and trends.
