The Aboriginal Policy, Treaty and Truth division is made up of the Aboriginal Justice Policy Reform and the Aboriginal Workforce Units. The division plays a leading role in the implementation of the Aboriginal Justice Agreement Phase 4, supports the development of justice policy and legislative reform impacting Aboriginal Victorians, leads the department''s response to the Victorian Treaty and Yoorrook Justice Commission''s processes, and supports the growth and retention of the department''s Aboriginal workforce.About the role:As the Executive Assistant, you will report to the Executive Director, Aboriginal Policy, Treaty and Truth and will provide high level executive and administrative support to this position and the Director, Aboriginal Justice Policy Reform Unit and their business units.You will be responsible for a wide range of executive and business support tasks and ensuring that competing priorities are delivered in an organised, professional and consistent manner. Duties including email and calendar management, supporting internal and external meetings and events with stakeholders, tracking correspondence and briefings, managing travel, and processing invoicing and payments.Some of your responsibilities will include:Prioritising, managing and monitoring emails, screening and attending to a broad range of enquiries and requests, including matters of a confidential or sensitive natureCoordinating schedules, arranging and preparing for meetings and follow up actionsCoordinating the flow of briefings and correspondence from the two units through to the Office of the Deputy SecretaryWorking with a range of stakeholders in an efficient and professional manner, to manage competing needs and achieve desired results and timely action by othersAbout youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal communities, society and culture, and the issues impacting them.Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with Victorian Aboriginal communities.Demonstrated experience supporting business processes, including financial and human resources to support effective workgroup operations,Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft office suite including Sharepoint electronic records management system or similar and/or ability to rapidly learn new software tools.Applicants are welcome to utilise support from the Aboriginal Recruitment Team throughout the recruitment process.
