Utilising an onsite sawmill, charcoal retort, electric arc furnaces and crushing and grinding facilities Simcoa produces this critical mineral and associated co-products for both the local Australian and broader international market.We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Safety and Health Leader, a person who will be responsible for supporting the Simcoa Operations and Simcoa Mines teams by proactively managing safety tasks engaging departmental and line managers to lead their people by example. By leading the Health and Safety Team, you will primarily be responsible for managing Emergency Response, Injury Management, Hazard prevention and reduction and Risk Management across the business. Your ability to coach and lead will ensure you develop strong working relationships with every person on site.By supporting line management with regulatory compliance, you will assist Simcoa to build and maintain sustainable external relationships and will identify mutually beneficial service solutions that ensure the safety of all personnel on site and that will continue to deliver positive outcomes for Simcoa. Some key responsibilities include:Engage in risk management and regulatory compliance with Line and Departmental Managers.Drive the hazard identification, prevention and reduction process with all Site Personnel.Utilise fully and drive continuous improvement in HSE information systems. Analyse data to inform decision making resulting in project/business improvement initiations and business change.Facilitate safety investigations and implement harm minimisation strategies.Support line management to ensure that all safety requirements are adhered to, in compliance with all statutory regulations under the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.Establish and maintain contractor management safety compliance inclusive of but not limited to Site Inductions.Assist with the development of HSE Strategic plan and help to manage/track progress against continuous improvement plans.Qualifications and ExperienceDemonstrated and proven Safety Lead/Superintendent experience with ability to lead small but proactive team. A minimum of 3 years experience is desirable.Minimum Certificate IV or Tertiary Level Occupational Health & Safety Qualifications.Lead ICAM investigator training is highly favoured along with completion of First Aid, White Card and Forklift certificate desirable.
