This is a key role within our regional pre-contracts team, offering flexibility to work from either of our well-appointed Perth or Adelaide CBD offices, and is open to WA or SA-based applicants.About The RoleReporting to the Regional Commercial Manager SA/WA, the Commercial Manager will be embedded within our Pre-Contracts team, working closely with bid teams on high-value tenders across a diverse range of construction projects. This role plays a critical part in shaping commercially competitive and compliant bids and ensuring a seamless transition from tender award to project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with bid teams to provide commercial input and strategy during the tendering phaseReview, interpret, and negotiate contract terms and conditions across multiple tender submissionsLead the development of pricing strategies, commercial risk assessments, and contractual frameworksEnsure bids comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standardsLiaise with internal stakeholders including estimating, legal, and delivery teams to align commercial outcomesSupport handover to project teams post-award, ensuring commercial objectives are clearly definedAbout YouTertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Commerce, or related fieldExtensive experience in commercial management or contract administration within the construction industry, particularly during pre-contracts or tendering phasesExperience with project controls (e.g. project financial reports, contracts and change management).Display a positive, proactive, professional attitude including being open to learning and sharing knowledge.Demonstrate and effect a desire to work collaboratively and with flexibility in teams.What We OfferCompetitive remuneration packageFlexible working options from either Perth or Adelaide officesInvolvement in landmark projects across multiple sectorsA collaborative and supportive team environment focused on professional growthClear pathways for career progression with a tier one employer of choiceAbout UsMcConnell Dowell - Creative ConstructionOur purpose is Providing a Better Life.
