OpportunityA Community Support Worker plays an integral role in helping people with disabilities thrive by supporting them to achieve their goals in environments outside of their everyday routine. As a community support worker, you will encourage our customers to engage with their community in any way that they choose, empowering them to build independent skills. As relief supports, you will have the opportunity to support our customers across various locations in Perth Metro Area while you benefit from a permanent part-time contract with consistent shifts.About the RoleAs a Community Support Officer, you will:Provide active support focusing on maximising engagement and participation in the customers daily lifeAccompany and support customers in a varied range of social activities such as: such as going out for lunch/coffee, grocery shopping, classes, movies, or appointments (including hydrotherapy and swimming)Promote participation and social connection with customers family and friends, with a focus on maximising engagement and advocating for our customersSupport customers with their daily living needs, such as: personal care, domestic tasks, meal planning and personal administration (e.g. shopping, banking, paying bills)Undertake writing of reports, shifts notes, travel records and incident reportBe confident driving wheelchair accessible vans (e.g. Toyota Hiace)About YouComfortable driving wheelchair accessible vans (e.g. Toyota Hiace)Adaptable communication skills and a strong focus on person-centred careA Certificate III or IV in a caring discipline is highly desirableWillingness to work in different locations and change locations on short notice within the Perth Metro Area (max. 30 minutes radius)Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance no older than 6 months, Current Drivers Licence, NDIS Workers Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening check, Current First Aid Training Certificate (HLTAID011 minimum), COVID-19 Vaccination (min. 2 doses)At Ability WA, we care about finding the right people to join us hence encourage you to apply even if you dont meet 100% of our selection requirements.Availability RequirementsTo ensure the best match we ask that you can commit to minimum of 3 days per weekAs most of our shifts are on weekdays, availability between Monday-Friday in the following time frames is required:Morning Shifts 6:00AM 4:00PMAfternoon Shifts - 1:00PM 11:00PMBenefitsBeing part of Ability WA includes some great benefits:Non-profit organisation salary packaging benefits up to a maximum of $18,550Leave loading, paid parental leave, Employee Assistance Program, Private Health Insurance and Workplace Banking Program discountExtensive training and skill-building opportunities throughout your roleTo ApplyIf you like what were about and think youll be a good fit, wed love to meet you!Clickapplyto submit your application including a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for this position.
