Job Title

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanic to lead the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of diesel engines across various equipment and vehicles. This role requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to train external partners, coordinate with principals, and oversee spare parts management to ensure smooth service operations and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Duties Diagnose, service, and repair diesel engines in vehicles or equipment (trucks, generators, construction machinery, etc.). Conduct troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Lead field servicing, major overhauls, and engine rebuilds as needed. Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.Training & Partner Support Provide technical training and guidance to service partners and dealer technicians. Develop training materials, SOPs, and service bulletins for internal and external use. Assist partners in complex troubleshooting and repair cases. Act as the main technical liaison with principals (OEMs or engine manufacturers) for escalated issues. Coordinate warranty claims, service updates, and technical bulletins from principals. Attend technical meetings and provide feedback from the field to manufacturers.Spare Parts Management Identify, forecast, and manage spare parts requirements for diesel engine maintenance. Work closely with the parts department to ensure the availability of critical components. Monitor stock levels and consumption trends to avoid shortages or overstocking. Ensure correct parts usage and report any defects or inconsistencies to the supplier.Requirements: Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. Minimum 57 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance. Strong hands-on experience with common diesel systems: fuel injection, turbocharging, emission control, etc. Experience in conducting technical training or mentoring junior staff/partners. Good communication skills in dealing with principals and technical support teams. Knowledge of spare parts systems, inventory processes, and basic supply chain concepts. Familiarity with warranty procedures and service documentation. Proficient in MS Office and diagnostic software/tools. Valid drivers license, passport, and willing to travel for service or training support.Preferred: Experience with engines from major brands such as Cummins, Perkins, Volvo, or Isuzu. Technical certifications from engine manufacturers. Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; other languages a plus.Project Volcan Pte.
