Your role as a Catering Assistant will contribute greatly to enriching the lives of our residents by ensuring appetizing and nutritious meals are provided, promoting a positive and enjoyable dining experience for all.What are the key responsibilities?Duties May Include But Not Be Limited ToFood handling and preparationPlating and serving of mealsEnsuring on time delivery of quality mealsBasic record keeping (e.g. number of meals per day, missed meals) in consultation with the Chief CookCleaning of dishes, kitchen workspace, equipment, utensils and fixturesEnsure kitchen and equipment is maintained in a safe, hygienic and tidy mannerWhat will you bring to the role?Experience working in Aged Care/Hospital commercial kitchen (desired)You will demonstrate compassion, sensitivity and maturity to provide high quality mealsAttention to detail and ability to follow both verbal and written instructionsGood knowledge of food safety (preferable HACCP)Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to manage your time effectivelyWho is Southern Cross Care?Southern Cross Care (SCC) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago.
