2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJob Title: Chief Exploration Officer (Corporate Role)Location: Corporate Headquarters, Perth, Australia with global travel as requiredReporting To: Chief Executive Officer; member of the Executive Leadership Team.Position Overview: The Chief Exploration Officer (CXO) will define and execute the company''s global exploration strategy, responsible for identifying new mineral resources, business opportunities, innovative technologies, and strategic market expansions. The CXO will balance technical excellence, commercial discipline, strategic foresight, innovation leadership, and a mission-driven approach to grow the resource portfolio in line with corporate objectives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company remains at the forefront of technological, business, and sustainability advancements, with a focus on long-term growth and resilienceKey Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Develop, update, and deliver the corporate exploration strategy to drive sustainable resource growth.Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary exploration team; foster a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration.Target Generation & Evaluation: Identify and prioritise new exploration opportunities through geological, geophysical, geochemical, and remotesensing methods.Budget & Performance Management: Establish and oversee annual exploration budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure costeffective operations.Technical Excellence: Oversee geological modelling, resource estimation, and data management; ensure best practices in sampling, drilling, and assay quality control.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all exploration activities comply with relevant standards (JORC, NI 43101).Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with government agencies, joint venture partners, landowners, and communities; represent the company at industry forums and conferences.ESG Integration: Champion environmental stewardship, social license, and community engagement within exploration programs; partner with ESG teams to align exploration practices with corporate sustainability goals.Reporting & Governance: Prepare and present exploration updates, technical reports, and resource statements to the CEO, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field.Minimum 15 years of progressive exploration experience, including 10 years in senior leadership roles in global mining companies.Proven track record of discovery and resource growth in diverse geological settings.Familiarity with JORC and NI 43101codes, and local permitting processes, within West Africa.Experience managing multimilliondollar exploration budgets and vendor/contractor relationships.Skills and Competencies:Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate corporate goals into actionable exploration plans. Visionary thinking with the ability to see beyond conventional horizons. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the commercial and societal impact of new ideas.Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of modern exploration techniques, GIS, and modelling software. Demonstrated success in leading transformative initiatives or ventures. Proven track record of identifying emerging opportunities and transforming them into successful business initiatives.Financial Acumen: Strong budgetary control, forecasting, and commercial evaluation skills.Risk Management: Skilled at assessing geological, operational, and political risks and developing mitigation strategiesCommunication & Influence: Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities. Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiencesLeadership & Collaboration: Inspires teams to deliver results; fosters crossfunctional cooperation. Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, high-impact projects.
