You will play a key role in developing and promoting the schools vision for academic success and in fostering a shared commitment to this vision among staff, students, families, and community partners.In this role, you will have specific responsibility for the leadership of the Gifted and Talented Program, ensuring high-potential learners are challenged, engaged, and supported through tailored programs and enrichment opportunities. You will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of initiatives that extend and enhance learning outcomes for gifted students. You will have the opportunity to focus on building strong partnerships with local primary and secondary schools to support smooth transitions into the Gifted and Talented Program. You will also be responsible for creating innovative local partnerships to expand opportunities for curious, creative learning that nurtures the extension and challenge of young minds.Leading the implementation of contemporary teaching and learning practices that are aligned with the Quality Teaching Strategy and reflective of the Teaching for Impact framework is an essential role of the Albany SHS Leadership Team. This includes coaching staff to embed evidence-based pedagogies into classroom practice and fostering a collaborative culture where the teachers are confident in their effectiveness, open to feedback and focused on continuous improvement.Using effective change strategies, you will ideally lead the school community to embrace and develop opportunities for improved service catering for Albany SHS students who need extension and challenge. You will model continuous professional learning and contribute to workforce effectiveness by promoting a culture of high expectations, innovation, and collaboration.Additionally, you will ideally contribute to the development of the schools strategic plan through inclusive and participative decision-making, including the development of policy and procedures and the establishment of sustainable systems and processes.
