Borderline Personality Disorder Support Group FacilitatorBorderline Personality Disorder Support Group Facilitator6 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Facilitating support group processes, planning the group topics, ensuring group members understand the rules and the code of conduct of the group, managing and monitoring group activities and dealing with behavioral issues that can arise in groups and managing conversations around self-harm.Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Foster a Safe and Supportive Environment: Provide a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where consumers feel comfortable sharing their experiences.Effective Communication and Leadership: Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills to guide group discussions and promote mutual respect.Uphold Professional Standards: Abide by and apply the Code of Conduct within the support group setting.Maintain Confidentiality: Safeguard the privacy of participants and respect their individual needs and boundaries.Apply De-escalation and Trauma-Informed Practices: Use appropriate de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches to support individuals while ensuring the overall wellbeing of the group.Comply with OH&S Requirements: Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment.Complete Post-Group Reporting: Submit timely and accurate reports to the administrator following each group sessionSkills and ExperienceExtensive Group Facilitation Experience in the Borderline Personality Disorder Space: Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate support groups, particularly with individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges. Proven track record of managing group dynamics in high-stress or emotionally charged environments while promoting safety and inclusion.Peer-Led Support Group Expertise: Successfully led peer-based support groups with high attendance, drawing on lived or learned experience to foster mutual support. Skilled in applying peer work principles in practice, ensuring the group remains collaborative and participant driven.Cultural Competency: Experienced in working within culturally diverse communities, with an understanding of how cultural backgrounds can influence mental health experiences and help-seeking behaviour.Professional Boundaries and Ethical Practice: Strong ability to maintain clear and consistent professional boundaries, especially when working with vulnerable or marginalized populations. Demonstrates sound judgment in managing confidentiality, and group safety.Conflict Resolution and Sensitivity: Skilled in navigating sensitive discussions, managing challenging participant behaviour, and maintaining group cohesion.
