The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance testing of web and API-based systems, with hands-on experience using modern open-source tools and CI/CD practices.As a Performance Tester, you will be responsible for designing and executing performance tests, analyzing test results, and working collaboratively with development, DevOps, and business teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Youll play a key role in shaping performance quality early in the SDLC and ensuring our applications meet non-functional requirements.This is a permanent, full-time position that requires regular attendance at our client''s office in Brisbane or Perth. Endava supports a hybrid working model.Key Responsibilities:Develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts and scenarios across APIs, web, and backend servicesAnalyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and create detailed findings and recommendation reportsCollaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and QA engineers to assess and improve system performanceWork with business stakeholders to define performance SLAs and non-functional requirements (NFRs)Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar)Use observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, AppDynamics) to monitor system behavior under loadParticipate in sprint planning and provide performance risk assessmentsContinuously improve performance testing processes and introduce early-stage performance practices (Shift-left)Mentor junior testers and support cross-functional knowledge sharing within the teamQualificationsEssential Skills:5+ years of experience in performance testing, analysis, and tuning2+ years of experience in test automation using Playwright with TypeScriptStrong hands-on experience with one or more tools:k6, JMeter, Gatling, Azure Load TestingProgramming/scripting proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or C#Solid understanding of API and web architecture and performance bottlenecksExperience testing in distributed systems and microservices environmentsFamiliarity with performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus)Strong SQL skills to query and analyze backend data stores (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)Experience working with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, and Node.js-based applicationsExcellent analytical and communication skills for explaining performance risks and findings to technical and non-technical audiencesNice to Have:Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)Familiarity with frontend performance tools (e.g., StiespeedIO, Lighthouse, WebPageTest)Knowledge of containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Additional InformationWhat We Offer YouWhile you may not possess all the skills mentioned abovenobody doeswe are committed to supporting your growth through training, mentorship, and involvement in diverse projects across small and large teams.
