CaRS is transforming how we provide support and service to injured workers to improve the outcomes they achieve. As part of this, we are helping shape and execute on key strategic priorities for RTW Victoria through pilots, innovation and key strategic programs of work.As a Claims Technical Specialist you will provide expertise across the Claims and Recovery Support division to proactively provide highly specialised technical information and advice, whilst continuing the focus on injured worker experience and improving outcomes for injured workers.In this position you will have the opportunity to work within an innovative and evolving environment that is implementing exciting changes that will contribute to scheme modernisation.Key ResponsibilitiesProactively coach, mentor and share expertise with CaRS to build and develop technical capabilities within the CaRS DivisionProvide expert advice and analysis for all technical claims management queries relating to policy, legislation, product knowledge, systems, processes or proceduresProvide leadership across the CaRS Division to proactively provide highly specialised technical information and adviceContribute to the quality of claims management decisions and outcomes, providing technical expertise and supportWork collaboratively with the Team Leader, Specialists to develop business solutions and improve capability of the teamPlease ensure you review the Position Descriptionvia the WorkSafe careers site ffor additional information on accountabilities for this role.About youYou will have strong claims operational experience along with extensive knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Workers Compensation Legislation, paired with highly developed skills in coaching, influencing and relationship building.You will also be comfortable working within a dynamic and agile environment with the ability to support others through change.Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:Advanced communication capabilities and technical skills demonstrated by experience within the insurance compensation industry in a technical roleAbility to build rapport and empathy with injured workers and their support networksCapability to develop and support continuous improvement initiativesAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of WorkSafe and its stakeholder landscapeQualificationsRelevant tertiary qualifications in a related field (desirable)Working with UsAt WorkSafe, we aspire for every employee to feel connected, safe and valued in their team, for teams to feel valued in the workplace, and for WorkSafe to be valued in the community.We believe that a diverse workforce is the key to delivering the best outcomes for the Victorian community and strongly encourage applications from all people, including First Nations people and people with disability, diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, sexualities and genders.Whats next?Applications close 11:00pm on Friday 20th June 2025.
