Join our Out of Home Care / Whole Family Team a Tier 4 specialist service based in Ingleburn where youll provide culturally safe, trauma-informed care to children in out-of-home care and families facing complex challenges such as mental health, trauma, and substance use. Youll work across outreach, inreach, and clinic-based settings, supporting families at risk of breakdown and collaborating with key agencies on significant child protection matters.This is more than a clinical role its an opportunity to lead culturally grounded care and be a visible advocate for healing and resilience in Aboriginal communities. Youll play a vital role in shaping how services are delivered, ensuring they reflect the values, strengths, and lived experiences of the people they support. Your voice will be central in promoting mental health awareness, building trust with community, and influencing positive change across the district.Youll be part of a supportive and collaborative team where initiative and hard work are recognised. This role also offers a clear pathway for career progression into senior clinical and team leadership positions making it a place where your impact and growth go hand in hand.What You''ll Be DoingThe primary role of this position is to provide culturally appropriate, recovery orientated evidence based assessment and interventions to clients of the mental health service who identify as Aboriginal and their families.Working within the multi-disciplinary team process, the position will also undertake mental health promotion and community liaison tasks in support of the development of culturally appropriate mental health services within SWSLHD.Where You''ll Be WorkingSWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).Relevant Qualifications as per the selection Criteria: Nursing (Registered Nurse): Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Occupational Therapy (Level 1/2): Current Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist. Social Work (Level 1/2): A Bachelor degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers Psychology (Registered Psychologist): Current Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist. Counsellor (Level 1/2): A Bachelor degree in Health Science (Mental Health) through the Charles Sturt Graduate program.Demonstrated experience delivering culturally appropriate, evidence based, recovery orientated mental health interventions in Aboriginal communities.Ability to work independently and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice consumers families and natural supports participating within the treatment process, as appropriate and in accordance with the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.Demonstrated knowledge and ability to implement the quality improvement process.Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice and professional development.Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver''s license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
