This role is essential in ensuring database performance, reliability, and security for business-critical systems operating 24/7. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DB2 administration, mainframe application support, and proactive issue resolution.Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesDatabase Administration & PerformanceEnsure 24/7 availability, performance, and stability of the DB2 database environment.Perform regular database backups, recovery procedures, user and security management.Conduct database upgrades, patches, and capacity planning.Monitoring & OptimizationProactively monitor database and batch job performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.Implement tuning strategies for improved query and workload performance.Diagnose and resolve DB2-related issues affecting batch job processing.Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for mainframe-based applications and batch processes.Participate in Major Incident Management (MIM) and problem resolution efforts.Design & ImplementationDesign and implement DB2 schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.Support database design efforts for new or enhanced batch processing applications.Security & ComplianceApply and manage database security measures in accordance with corporate standards and regulatory compliance requirements.Conduct access audits and manage user privileges appropriately.Batch Processing SupportMaintain, run, and monitor batch job schedules end-to-end, with emphasis on after-hours processing.Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve batch failures or issues.Implement and validate changes to batch processes.Requirements and ExperienceProven experience as a DB2 Database Administrator in a mainframe environment.Strong knowledge of mainframe systems, batch processing, and job scheduling tools.Solid understanding of database design, performance tuning, and security best practices.Ability to work in a 24/7 support model, including on-call rotations.Experience collaborating across teams including developers, infrastructure, and external vendors.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Work Hours: Shift-based (24x7 Support)Why Fujitsu?We are an organization with a strong set of values and a history of respecting fairness and equality, whilst promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
