With a focus on uncovering and understanding the impact that design makes on everyday experiences, The Local Project celebrates honest and human-centred design through premium print, digital, editorial, video and social content, with over 100,000,000 impressions per month across our owned, operated and third-party platforms. In 2024 we launched The Local Production, a full-service specialist agency focused on creating content to truly elevate brands. Harnessing expert knowledge and skills, we specialise in delivering strategic excellence and creative brilliance. The Head of Production will have overall accountability for our production output. Forming part of the leadership group, this fast paced and varied role will cover strategy, people management, delivery and process improvement. Some of the things you''ll be working on Contribute heavily to The Local Production strategy, processes and delivery to ensure we are providing a world class experience for internal and external clients. Managing the day to day operations of the full inhouse production team including video editors, producers and videographers. Build career pathway frameworks for the production department, set objectives and manage performance reviews whilst remaining hands on through regular 121s, coaching and mentorship to ensure the team is happy, healthy, and engaged. Managing top-tier/high pressure clients with professionalism and confidence. Review and refresh The Local Production processes, workflows and tooling to ensure we are meeting industry best practices. As part of the senior leadership team youll represent production in planning sessions, partnering with other Head Of stakeholders, ensuring that issues are raised and addressed appropriately and that team cohesion remains strong. Experience you''ll need Previous experience as a Head of Production or similar in a media production company. Youll understand the intricacies and nuances of a fast-paced media business that focuses on high quality content. People management: proven experience building and leading highly efficient and engaged teams. Youll understand the importance of career progression and youll be able to talk confidently to previous experiences growing and promoting those around you. Process improvement: Youll be able to share multiple examples of times that your ideas have boosted efficiency for the team and business. Technical knowledge: Youll understand the technical aspects of video production and are confident engaging with shooters, producers and editors on various topics. Commercial knowledge: Youll understand the business side of media production and can take a holistic approach to strategy planning, revenue generation and budget management. Attitude and behaviours: Superior communication skills with a natural ability to guide and influence stakeholders of all seniority.
