Position Details Role: Medical Oncology Fellow Type: Full Time (12 months) Commencement: February 2026 Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the role of Medical Oncology Fellow. This role involves coordinating the management of oncology patients eligible for or enrolled in clinical trials within the Oncology Unit of The Alfred Hospital. Responsibilities include overseeing trial patients, their treatments, and protocol-specified reviews. Potential patients will be assessed for suitability and consented if appropriate in daily outpatient clinics. The role may include supervision of junior medical staff. The fellow will attend 5 outpatient clinics per week, participate in rural clinics, and attend multidisciplinary and weekly unit meetings. The role also involves contributing to the after-hours on-call roster, including weekends, and engaging in research projects during the placement. This placement aims to develop skills, knowledge, and credentials for transition into a medical oncology specialist training program or into the immediate post-FRACP phase of career development.
