You will coordinate across departments to achieve shared goals, improving core capabilities and expanding competitive advantages through innovative customer-facing technology solutions.Own the engineering strategy and execution for carsales'' Consumer business, including product development, platform architecture, and engineering practices.Collaborate with product, data, and technology leaders to shape the vision for engineering and product delivery.Build an exceptional team and promote behavioral and cultural standards.Ensure accountability for delivering strategic outcomes to high standards.Lead strategic planning and execution of the engineering roadmap and architectural evolution.Oversee platform and system evolution, adopting emerging technologies and patterns.Translate company objectives into team goals, creating alignment at all levels.Align engineering initiatives with operational and commercial goals.Balance innovation with operational reliability for speed and scale.QualificationsWhat we are looking forExperience in building strong engineering teams and fostering a company-first culture.Proven ability to develop technology strategies aligned with company objectives and stakeholder needs.Strong influence skills to navigate cross-functional dynamics and foster commitment.Deep understanding of software engineering, architecture, and related domains like infrastructure, data, and operations.Technical agility across backend and frontend frameworks, cloud infrastructure, architecture patterns, data systems, DevOps, and security.Experience leading teams to execute practical engineering roadmaps aligned with business goals.Ability to guide senior leadership on product development and technical excellence.Skilled in negotiating complex trade-offs between technical, commercial, and strategic considerations.Capacity to communicate effectively across various stakeholder levels.Additional InformationWe promote diversity and inclusion and encourage applicants of all backgrounds.
