The Role Join Tassals Proserpine farm as a Senior Technician - Farm Operations, where youll lead technical and operational excellence in our prawn farming operations. This role combines hands-on farm management with team leadership, ensuring optimal animal health, water quality, and sustainable production. Youll drive business priorities, foster a safety-first culture, and collaborate across teams to uphold Tassals standards of quality and innovation. Responsibilities Lead daily farm operations, including pond remediation, stocking, water quality management, and prawn health monitoring. Ensure biosecurity compliance, adhering to protocols and certification requirements. Analyse water quality and prawn health data to troubleshoot issues and optimise performance. Mentor and collaborate with team members, sharing technical knowledge and fostering a safety-focused culture. Maintain compliance with food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards. Adapt operational priorities to meet demands with a one business mindset. Role Requirements Proven experience in aquaculture or farm operations, with prawn farming highly regarded. Knowledge of pond and water quality management. Experience in prawn health assessment and biosecurity practices. Data-driven decision-making skills. Ability to train teams, resolve issues, and embody Tassals values. Relevant qualifications (e.g., aquaculture, biology) or willingness to obtain them. Adaptability to fast-paced environments. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to safety and sustainability. Full working rights in Australia. Drivers licence.
