Work options: Hybrid About The Role The role involves providing excellent teaching at AE, including preparing preservice teachers for successful placement experiences. This position requires proactive compliance with regulatory frameworks, enhancing student engagement, and ensuring their academic success. Key Responsibilities Include Develop current, relevant material for the Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education (GDECE) and other courses as required. Ensure the quality and compliance of each unit with AE standards and regulatory bodies. Engage in professional development to enhance teaching quality and stay current with emerging practices. Deliver engaging classes, tutorials, and placement induction programs both online and face-to-face. Incorporate feedback from students to improve their learning experience. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence to WHS policies and procedures. Participate in investigations and resolution of incidents. Report incidents to the Course Coordinator/HOD, including potential breaches of the Code of Conduct/policies, Health & Safety risks. Perform other tasks as required by the Course Coordinator/Head of Department. About You Applicants must hold an ACECQA-recognized early childhood teaching qualification at postgraduate level, such as a completed master''s degree or PhD, or be enrolled in a PhD program. At least 1 year of experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher in Australian early learning services is required. In Addition, You''ll Have High professional and ethical conduct, including academic integrity, resilience, and a collaborative approach. Ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision, and proactively. Strong understanding of Australian legislation, guidelines, operational requirements, and pedagogical frameworks, including the Education and Care Services National Regulations. Understanding of theory/practice in the relevant discipline and how to turn this into engaging content for students. Flexibility and a can-do attitude. Willingness to undertake at least 20 hours of professional development annually. Teamwork skills and willingness to contribute to professional collaboration and academic administration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A valid Working with Children Check is required. If hired, you must obtain one, which will be reimbursed. VIT Provisional or Teacher Registration holders do not require a separate WWCC. Desirable Relevant tertiary teaching experience with demonstrated achievements. Ability to improve teaching methods and incorporate technology or innovative strategies.
