We are committed to creating and maintaining a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve and inclusive culture where all employees feel valued, respected and connected.The RoleThe Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection Legal Division is responsible for providing legal advice to Departmental clients that is accurate, timely and solution focused.Advise on the interpretation and application of legislation administered by the Department.Conducting straightforward litigation, for example as trial counsel with a focus on Industry Regulation and Consumer Protection, Building and Energy, and Labour Relations.Providing high quality, relevant and accurate legal advice, with appropriate supervision conducting criminal prosecutions.Appearing as counsel and representing the Department.Preparing a variety of legal documents.Qualifications and LicensesDegree in Law.Current Australian practising certificate that enables the holder to engage in legal practice as a government legal practitioner or eligible to obtain one prior to commencement of employment.Benefits working for DEMIRSFlexible working hours (with a standard 37.5 hour week)Flexible working arrangements (from home, the field and office)20 days of annual leave per year (which can be taken at half pay)17.5% leave loading paid annually on accrued annual leave15 days personal leave per year13 weeks long service leave every seven years (which can be taken at half pay)18 weeks paid parental leave (after 12 months of service)3 public holidays in lieu per year5 days reproductive leave per year10 days disability leave per year5 days cultural leave for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people per yearAbility to purchase additional annual leaveOpportunities for professional development, acting, shadowing and mentoringFormal training optionsStable work, job security, fair remuneration and 11.5% superannuation contributionsInterested?
