We are a progressive organisation that values our staff and offers them superior working conditions.SURA Construction & Engineering has a new opportunity for a Senior Underwriter in a hybrid capacity to join our busy team in Sydney to underwrite construction & Engineering risks, quote, and bind accounts within a delegated authority through negotiating & converting submissions from brokers.Specific accountabilities for this role include:Customize and modify policies using endorsements and terms and conditions to best meet client and underwriting needsPrepare new business and renewal premium and policy terms for review by senior staff and referral to LloydsApply in-depth specialised knowledge, judgement and understanding to provide advice on Construction InsuranceSupport the development, design and delivery of SURA Construction & Engineering products to Australian Insurance BrokersEnsure compliance with binder conditions, code of conduct and insurance laws and regulationsSet priorities and monitor workflows within the C&E Underwriting team as required, providing guidance and training to relevant staff and assisting in the review of their workExperience required to perform the role includes:Extensive relevant experience in or in-depth specialised knowledge of Construction & Engineering underwritingProficient understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworksAdvanced interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise/consult and maintain meaningful working relationships at all levelsAdvanced analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills as well as advanced numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and monitor budgets.
