WHERE YOU FIT IN As our business grows, we seek an ambitious Senior Financial Accountant to join our Melbourne finance team. You will handle general accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, financial statements, planning, and internal controls. You will also manage accounts payable and receivable with support, working closely with the Financial Controller ANZ and other stakeholders. The role involves occasional travel. We offer flexibility in hours and location; part-time applicants are welcome. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Financial Controller ANZ, your responsibilities include: Key areas of responsibility Coordinating month-end timelines for group reporting Ownership of month-end closing and reconciliations Managing the general ledger, chart of accounts, and master data Handling AP and AR within group parameters Preparing payroll and submitting STP Analyzing budget variances Reviewing financial statements for accuracy Preparing management reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flows) Recommending policy or procedural improvements Partnering with managers for budgets and forecasts Coordinating with external auditors Managing GST/IAS/BAS/PAYG returns and income tax lodgements Leading annual income tax processes with the tax team Leading 1-2 direct reports Performing ad hoc financial tasks and analysis Candidate profile 3-4 years experience in a broad financial accountant role, preferably in an international environment Bachelors degree in accounting or commerce Strong accounting and finance skills Excellent English communication skills Quick understanding of Acclimes services; industry experience preferred Knowledge of control, risk, and governance frameworks Relationship-building skills at all organizational levels Service-oriented, calm, patient Clear communicator, able to explain technical concepts simply Team player in a fast-growing environment Required Experience Bachelors degree in relevant field CPA/CA qualification preferred Strong analytical skills Excellent accounting knowledge Leadership and communication skills Proficiency in MS Excel, Xero, and financial software Attention to detail Organizational skills Problem-solving skills Time management skills Benefits at Acclime Australia Competitive salary and bonus Career growth opportunities Flexible hybrid work arrangements Additional Perks CA/CPA support (study leave and course fees) Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Financial Services and Accounting #J-18808-Ljbffr
